Sometimes a completely new technology is what drives the company and it doesn't follow (or builds on) the industry's standards. Agreed, these branching techs are rare and they're probably a very low percentage of the pitches you might get. Green entrepreneurs eagerness put aside, I think it's dangerous to think of innovation as a predictable thing. Maybe your best investments will be in pitches that *justifiably* start with these words... 'Just my 2 cents.
